The California Telehealth Network (CTN) will connect over 800 California healthcare providers in underserved areas to a state– and nation–wide broadband network dedicated to healthcare. CTN is funded by the Federal Communications Commission, the California Emerging Technology Fund, and UnitedHealth/PacifiCare.

Summary Memorandum: On November 16, 2007, the FCC voted to approve an Order in its Rural Health Care Pilot Program docket (WC Docket 02-60). The order order - dedicating over $417 million for the construction of telehealth networks in 42 states and US territories, and describing the details of how these funds will be used - was released November 19, 2007, and became effective 30 days later.
