The American
Telemedicine Association is a national organization that
provides advocacy for federal legislation and policy efforts as
well as holds conferences and brings together nationwide experts
on a variety of telehealth topics.
The California Telemedicine
and eHealth Center provides a variety of resources, program
guides and updated information about relevant Telehealth policy
legislation. CTEC has partnered with CTN to provide
program and technical support to CTN Members. CTEC’s
website contains links to many useful resources.
Cal eConnect is the
state designated entity for health information exchange in
California.
The California eHealth
website, sponsored by the State of California Health and Human
Services Agency, provides a comprensive portal for locating
information related to eHealth and HIT.
The Center for Connected
Health Policy is a non profit organization funded by The
California Healthcare Foundation to promote the use of
telemedicine. CCHP provides policy research and education
toward eHealth adoption. In partnership with CTN and
the University of California, CCHP operates a specialty care
pilot project that is connecting rural sites with UC providers.
The FCC Rural Health Care Pilot Program is a national program
expand the availability of broadband throughout the United
States. Using funds from the Universal Service
Telecommuications Surcharge, the FCC has funded 69 Rural Health
Care Pilot Programs across the country.
