The 2nd Annual ‘T’ea for Technology – Broadband, Telehealth & You: Bringing Wellness to Your Door, brought together a dynamic group including Congresswoman Watson (Ret), FCC Chairwoman Clyburn, CA Black Health Network’s CEO Darcel Lee, CA Telehealth Network’s President and CEO Eric Brown, medical students from Howard and Bowie Universities among other technology, community health and broadband advocates.
“Our quest is to provide a forum to display the kaleidoscope of opportunities in this age of digital inclusion. There is a need to acknowledge the depth and merits of technology and how it enhances nearly every facet of our society… and with that recognition requires understanding. Technology is not invasive but pervasive in the benefits if affords, especially as it relates to the overall health and wellness of our communities,” said Manchester Communities CEO, Revlyn Williams.
Hosted by representatives from the Los Angeles County Regional Broadband Consortia and the California Telehealth Network, the focus of the ‘T’ea was on the integration of technology via broadband deployment access and adoption, to improve access to quality healthcare.
“We thank Acting Chairwoman Clyburn and our other guests for joining us to continue the important discussion on the importance of using technology to expand access to healthcare particularly in underserved communities,” said California Telehealth Network President and CEO, Eric Brown.
The group also discussed the expansion of broadband connectivity in urban communities and methods to assist in closing the digital divide.
We look to improve upon our successes with the 2014 T’ea for Technology.
